Loren Etkin has been teaching drum lessons in Vancouver for over 40 years. He brings a wealth of performing and recording knowledge to his lessons. The following list of values sets him apart from other instructors when it comes to his teaching style, and methods.

1. Each student is an individual person with specific aptitudes, abilities, and needs.
2. Learning to read drum music is critical.
3. You will be told if you’re not practicing enough!
4. Efficient techniques for playing (and teaching) are important. Drumming technique is based on the idea called “Economy of Motion”.
5. Physical endurance will be built up from practice. Lessons have been described as “physical training” for the drums.

Loren is always interested in students who will challenge him as a drum instructor. Students of all skill level are welcome. Ideal students are the ones with passion, and the drive to succeed as drum players.
